Sidari is a tourist resort at the North coast of Corfu island. It used to be a small village when in the early 80's it became a popular tourist destination. Since than it is growing constantly to one of the largest commercial resorts. Sidari offers accommodation to 14,000 people and is very famous for its Caval d' amour or Channel of Love to which it owns his world reputation.

From Sidari one can go to the Shore of Peroulades, to Avilotes a rather large village and to the settlement of Agios Stefanos. Another excursion that one can take from Sidari is to Diapontia islands of Mathraki, Othoni and Ericousa which are around 7 miles from the mainland. Taking back the same road four kilometers the road leads to Karousades. The road goes on to Roda and from there to the picturesque villages of Sfakera, Xanthates, Agioi Douloi and Chrepiskopoi.

Sidari Beach Guide

The beach is divided into three parts. The main beach is the central stretch, a long sandy bay. water is calm and extremely shallow, making it an ideal place for children and swimmers.

Canal D' amour

The famous coves of the Canal D'Amour can be found to the west at the left side of Sidari beach. The Canal D’Amour is an area of eroding sandstone cliffs that have formed several tiny sand and shingle coves reached by paths and even ladders. It is ideal for snorkeling and swimming do to its calm and swallow waters.

Legend has it that if you swim through the canal you will find the love of your life at the other side, but i must say just the views of swimming through was terrific on its own

Places to Go

Acharavi: Set on the north coast, Acharavi is a small resort offering a surprising variety of activities. Restaurants, shops and bars are strung out along the one main road which is set back from the beach, making for a pleasant stroll in the cooler parts of the day.

Almyros: The coastal area of Almyros is also of great archeological interest because of the cemetery discovered which is still being excavated.

Karousades: In the northwestern part of Corfu, 40km from the city we meet the village of Karousades. It is a graphic village on the road to Roda that distinguishes for its traditional architecture. It is built in a beautiful location. It is worth visiting and walk through the graphic pats of the village.

Magoulades: Built on a hilltop, with a history stretching back many years, Magoulades is home to The Church of Saint Theodora – the largest in the area. High on the hillside, with great views of the sea, the Monastery of Ipsili is a beautiful example of Corfu’s religious heritage.

Peroulades: A village situated in the less explored and unspoilt part of Corfu. The naturally beautiful village, with marked Venetian and French influences, is currently under preservation for its cultural and architectural heritage.

Avliotes: The village of Avliotes is located 3 Km Northeast to Agios Stefanos . It is about a small village with a population of 1600 inhabitants, built on the hillside over the bay of Agios Stefanos.
